  Don't think the  book by its ugly face, many reports said . This  is a English written  book with trivia records ,from the last 15 years  from various sources ,newspapers, statistics  and the net with (un+)interesting things  and info of the country .It  contains 160 pages full if info in an anarchic way I.e. no relation between themes and subjects  ,this is is the reason it is referred as random. In addition it includes many pictures graphics and tables Even the right page number at the bottom  is used as a referral in some of these trivia I have this book  for several years.It is one of the few i use evrytime due to it easy to read short texts The book is on the other side very interesting and sometimes funny.A book hat has the reson to be in your shack in case you are interested in this country. Life in the Malay kampungs of Kuching 50 years ago One of the less interesting books of my shack   I   rewrite the back of the book   here This book written 50 years ago and reprinted   on 2002 by the Sarawakian part of the printing facilities of the University of Msia seems as a   printout of a Word file and includes ca 90 pages in a format of 24.5 x 16.8 using a plasticized paper. The   language   is rather   technical but still   easy to read , with   some Malay words   using in case   there is nothing   close to English , mostly used in italic form . This book is one of my older Malay stories books aimed mostly for children It is a A5  sized book with bt 90 pages with  totaly 12  tales , each of the story  consists also of illustrations  The language is very easy  to me with very few unknown words but is easily understandable so the dictionary is not necessary Her is a  listing of the tales The boy with the  green  eyes  Kamut's story  The two thieves  The  pheasant and the  crow  How the mouse-deer outwitted  the tiger  The lion city  Why the buffalo and the  monkey became friends The story of Mat Janin The bear  The  day hat the sky fell down  Pa Kadok's story  Buaya  the  crocodile

I have read too much 10 years ago abot this book when i read the history  of Malaysia .   One of the interesting books read this summer! Although i have found the book in online form , i also added to my book list his year with the hope that it uses a different format as the scanned online version was a column-full   without spaces  between stories. This version comes from Silverfish publications ,but keeps  the original text format exactly as the posiby more original edition of 1821 .(and fancy! 1821 by coincidence is the year Greeks revolted against the Ottoman dominance) Reading it the language is a bit archaic as there are several not so common words as whither, Passages are rather easy to read but not always easy to understand .Word wise regarding to my vocabulary the vocabulary  is relatively easy with 2-6 max...

It is a reprint by silverfish books , n their serie of Malaysian classics (i think a  total of 4 books ), from these books:0 -Fables and tales from the easter forest  1901  Walter Skeat -17 yeard among the Sea Dayaks in borneo  Ed Gomez  for both,  second published in JSBRAS -2 Sea dayak  legends Its zize is identcal to A5  size with 207  pages and consted me  ca 8 Euros (30 + 10 ship) IN contrast to the oter books  this book  as a nearly outdated language due to its older used english , iein the early 20th century . this is the reason i found too many  rather unknown worlds as also some archaisms  and  is the fisrt i used my tablet as translator for faster usage! Notice  that  from Warna radio  station of Spore , from where is he , i have heard the  name of penglipur lara (storytellers ) This book  is even smaller than the Kadazan  tales book  referred  in the previous article. Lasimbang  and is  from the #3  batch of books  received this  tear   for a cost of 20+22.5 RM  ie 9.3 E , published under the Publications  of National history  of Borneo  It s design is quite simple in a simple DTP design . The outer paper is glossy little plasticized and fonts inside the text are quite big for my eyes (letter is  Georgia sized 13-14  picas) as this  text but line spacing is higher .  IN this book  only 10 stories are included (too few stories comparing to other tale books i have now )as follows:  1- The origin of the world - the story  of 'adam' and 'eve' making the universe  2- The owl and the moon  ; a young boy  looking for his mother 3- Tompipii'   a bird that p...

THis is the  fisrt of the new batch of book on malaysia  this year .and this book is the reason for buying it  . Here is some background  on how I decided to buy this book and also look after for more related. earlier this year desperate in adding  some stories (tales myths etc ) for my daughter i also googled  for Malaysian  tales across the intenet (say: googling ). But as googling just 'Malaysian  tales'  yielded only a few lemmas . And also the book 365 folk tales from Malaysia .AS i could not   find something more i decided to buy this book .  After  2 emails to Utusan the producer i have not received any reply from them . After  chatting with a malaysian frind in facebook he suggested me several online bookstores. This is a book of  re-tellings  of better say modern versions of original  fables or tales  as  thought by their  today;s authors . YOU can compare  the  original Cinderela  Story  with the  new  Cinderella   Elle: A Modern Cinderella Tale (2010)  found on www.imdb.com/title/tt1436372 ] Daphne Lee is the   author  and the editor of this book edited by her and her counterparts  making  retells or versions of 16  Malay  fables or tales .
