"Easy A"with Emma Stone

"Easy A" | A Composite Review from the Web

Α pleasant rom-com with Emma Stone in the role of Olive, a student who, after a lie, becomes famous at her school as... "easy." The result? The time comes for payback, and Olive must find a way to get out of the problem she created herself. She is quite smart to find a good and near out of box solution.

Pure American style with plenty of cheap laughs. Just enjoy it as much as you can, rather than thinking about it!

A fairly good role for Emma Stone, with good actors overall.

Positive assessments: Stone is the bright spot, the script is clever. Rotten Tomatoes gives it an 85% fresh rating, with the general critical consensus being: "although it owes a lot to classic teen movies, the film is a smart showcase for the charming Emma Stone." Roger Ebert praised it as "funny and engaging," believing it made Stone a star. Screen Rant considers that the film uses a modern approach to discuss sex education and sexual prejudice, with a more progressive perspective than many comedies of its era. Metacritic gives an overall score of 72, with 91% of critics being positive.

Negative/cautious views: Trying too hard, stereotypical. Critics focus on the film "trying too hard." The Las Vegas Sun comments that "it tries to be Clueless but ends up conventional." Metacritic users point out that the portrayal of Christians is overly stereotypical, with characters lacking depth. Some also believe the humor is uneven, with the first half being boring.

In summary: It's a film you can "enjoy without thinking too much." But its value lies in using a light framework to touch on serious issues like the "double standard" and teenage reputation, and professional critics mainly acknowledge Stone's performance and the film's success as "smart entertainment."
