Luckiest Girl Alive : some thoughts (some corrections 6/11)
Some random thoughts.
At first the movie title made me think it's a comedy . There are several more with nearly the same title as comedies (worlds luckiest girl etc.) so i was prepared to watch a comedy.
After watching the first half I understood this is surely a #meetoo story a few years before the hashtag was trending in social media, with lots of thriller scenes and a short dash of horror . Sometimes we need to get more info before watching a movie …
Mila in the role of older Anie is quite angry and less than previously as more intensely baby-faced as I knew her since the superpower characters in a movie 10+ years ago. She is now around 40+
This movie requires high concentration to watch otherwise you can lose much. Several scenes require to do scroll the REW buton to watch it.
The movie is full of flashbacks that go in parallel with the movie. This is very irritating to the coherence of the movie even if both are united in the end .
Inner dialogue and visual thoughts are also irritating the viewer during her narration I was rather in doubt if by mistake I chosen the directors cut track but searching further info proved I was in the right track . This also makes watching more difficult One of the most angry scenes was stabbing someone with the knife in the start of the movie, or even thinking on how to use the knife to kill (?) someone.
Both instances of Ani are played very well I think that the younger actress (Chiara Aurelia) does a better job than Mila,
My verdict : 7+ /10 food for thought
I found an interesting review https://www.thereviewgeek.com/luckiestgirlalive-moviereview/ The reviewer also made a good analysis for the movie’s end here https://www.thereviewgeek.com/luckiestgirlalive-endingexplained/
