American Desi review

 

After watching the very poor-ish  movie don't break my heart i was already in deep prejudice for the next movie. In a sudden the Youtube system proposed me this movie and immediately watched it

A interesting movie with a young Hindi boy ready to go to the college where  he mixes up with students of the same race as a kind of fate against his prejudice against his heritage roots. Pure comedy with lots of funny scenes   

Interestingly the word Desi  means local . the movie is full in English so easier for a foreigner as me to watch it  with no knowledge of Hindi. The story is quite small than the older Hindi movies of the past  just 100 minutes

Also a simple story with limited twists and on how the collegians  live in the USA lots of humor and funny scenes as with the lunch he proposed to  Nina. Fiest time meeting her was another funny scene failed to understand she is Indian . Another  very funny is insisting to be called as Chris instead of Krishna as anyone from  his family called him.

Another interesting spot was the reference of the movie ‘Kuch2 Hota He’  possibly the most important movie of the 90s tough I think Devdas with Ashwariya Rai could be even more interesting. Just preferences ! asl him watchi9ng Hindi movies of the past  (just the 90s) was quite poor regarding to the movie plots he watched (he noticed adult films !! )

He even was against any religious or even regarding his roots or relationship to India. All this is shown in the start of the movie that raises something more important for any expatriate child born  in a different country an is parents. This also happens in our country Greece. More than 400.000 non Greeks or children from Greek immigrants   in other counties intruded our country in the last 20+ years Shall they stop communicating   with their ancestors?

This is the most important morale of this story.
