This is a movie that soon would be removed  from netflix’s servers . as shown in imdb is is an old movie just before 2000 and based on a novel. Information shown that dialogues is also designed by author. 

This is the reason that the dialogues are made very well I was deeply impressed with them. This reminds me also the story of Cassiani  a well known Greek woman of the 9 century who has the most characteristics of Veronica the main character . The main difference is  that tough veronica continued living in the community Cassiani left in the monastery and became a saint. Veronica pepperly dressed and maquillaged is looks as like a princess.
Story is Located in Venice a city with women inferior to men living as slaves

Worth to mention dialogues are also full of impressive quotes many of them will be foundin the imdb page Another nice example was the verbose war with another courtier of the palace who sung nice erotic verses

Her apology in the end of the movie is also awesome

Filming costumes and place are awesome .  A few well known actors of the 80-90s are played and all the acting is also very nice , as like aa movie of 60s or before Although Netflix rated  it 16 nudity is very limited  there is not any significant violence as in todays movies excpot a  sword fight after a word fight .

My very religious mom watched the movie together with me and commented it as very nice.

Its   very sad  that this masterpiece is left from the servers of netdflix MAtch 21 noticed that movie retuned
