Athos is a documentary for the monks living in the holiest place of Christianity located in the East finger o the peninsula of Chalkidiki . The place is also  called Athos even if the Greek name is called “the holy mountain” . Athos is the name of the middle finger in Greek

 

This is a German production  even if he team is Greek  with Greek as main talking language.   Watched from Netflix together with a person who visited the place many times and years ago although by simple search the movie Is also in the free in YouTube . This site  [top box] has also many videos from the globe related  to orthodox[?] Christianity )  documentaries

 

Returning bak to the subject  , this video unfolds the real  stories  of monks living in their personal hermitages ,their everyday home and non home work , the problems that can arise in their solely fife , and sometimes reaching other eremite monks , and sometimes reaching the nearby monasteries.

In general  “monk-ing is hard , harder than you can expect”  as an older proverb says.

He ’filming’ is  quite good  near professional level similar to what someone can watch most other documentaries and is based by the team’s route in the ‘finger’.
