review : Only mine
Possibly one of the very few to over rate this movie.
First this is based on a true story of Lora Kucewa, a woman who after hit by bullets found the courage to live again. Why ? Because she was very tightly bonded by love with her mom. This information is noticed in the before the titles in the movie end and seems that none here noticed .
This movie is a TRIBUTE to her
The story is simple. Julie an Indian near adult girl fallen suddenly in love with a new recruited policeman in the small city she lived but after sometime she understood he is a maniac and very manipulative and designing alibis. The remain in the screen
Though the filming is rather amateur the movie does its job. Possibly not so good as with other Holywood movies but the RESULT is still OK
Writing this article a few hours later I am still deeply moved with this story
Addition : a bit later I read the true story behind that Anderson was sentenced for 55 years in prison for 3 bullets in the shoulder I copy here part of the truth behind at even harder than the story . I can understand the reasons but still the story is intriguing
Kucera was kidnapped and shot by her ex-boyfriend Brian Anderson, who was not a cop. Kucera also did not muster up the strength to kill Anderson like Julie does in the final moments of the movie; IRL, Anderson went to the police days later and led them to Kucera’s body, where she was found alive and unconscious. Anderson, then 22, was sentenced to 55 years in prison.
Only Mine also leaves out the truly tragic fact that Kucera, who spent 51 days in the hospital and relearned how to walk, died in a car crash almost a year after surviving getting shot in the head twice. It’s understandable why they left out that fact, as it’s deeply upsetting. But it’s curious why they even tied this story to Kucera’s in the first place since it has nearly nothing in common with what happened. I guess what’s really true is that having “based on a true story” at the front of your movie makes it a little more intriguing.

7/10 I originally rated it as 8 but lowered by 1 point as the story 'derails' from the reality anyway the #femicide hashtag is also popular in our country with weekly rate.
