A quite different year change version 2020!!

In very older post in this blog I noticed that most of the older times from before 2008 (multiply link not valid as )when i was using the satellite TV system i used it on the new year eve , to watch the year changes from national TV channels transmitting their  Year Change program that was mostly musical program These stations included: 

• NHK with their gongs

• CCTV4 with their music program . it was also very nice that I have herd the song Woaini zhong guo爱你中国 in a electro opera version  which seems as the second national anthem. It  was really an excellent version of the original opera song.  

• Thailand’s external  service with live program

• Once from Taiwan

• From Kazakhstan too  and Russia 

• Azerbaican also !

This happened for many years until the system stopped operating due to several reasons one of them was the most important :My daughter was very persistent in watching children programs via satellite TV for very long until I had to disconnect it from my TV in order to t get more focused in her school studies. She was just 5-6 years old that time…  Later the system didn’t work. Possibly the LNB was damaged.. 

For the next years I preferred to listen to  the shortwaves for only on 1600z to listen to the year change from CNR on 4800kHz, the basic frequency I used all the time  to listen to the gongs and the remain program that was with some talks and possibly the addressing from the PM. It  was  something I did and before the satellite system. 

For this year the things were different. 

As you possibly know I have a strong interest  with Malaysia  its culture  and history since 1989
Tough i many times tuned to tRTM radio stations with more favorite  into Klasik FM  and some others it was quite rare to watch a TV program for quite long. I was very curious to watch on how they do the year change. This was my first opportunity!

I 'tuned' to RTM with from Malaysia little before their midnight  time (1553UTC  or  5.53am   my local time) starting first from my mobile .That time RTM1 aired a documentary. Immediately changed to  RTM2 where  there was a live program from Kuala Lumpurs Dataran Merdeka (Freedom Square) where  Dr Mahathir Mohamed Malaysia’s PM was addressing his public speech in front of a open hall with musical instruments . 

Just notice the hashtag in the upper left corner  : konsert kita punya that mens the 'concert we possess'  together with the 2puluh 2puluh at RTM  that is 2020!!!

Because i m not very good in Malaysian language  except in understanding lyrics mainly from love songs , I could suppose he could refer to the plans for the Wawasan 2020 (Ideal for 2020 ) and the visit Malaysia 2020 as happened many times before , since 1995  i  was concerned more into the country.

The program was not very much succesful but tthey will try ore to solve...

As you understand the photo was captured from my mobile  . I did nt make any photo processing except to shrink its size....

 The square was full that time with more than 10000 people  waiting for the New year change

IN a separate place some officials were sitting at the chairs!

There was the New year change with the typical  countdown and then some fireworks were used but i dint captured anyting

Immediately after the Prime Minister;s speech and the change of the year there was a music program starting with some semitraditional music with dancers  then with a young drummer

   These are the presenters of the concert with Nur Amirah Shahira  in the middle a very avid drums player  with more than 1 millions followers in YouTube !She is very good in rocking with her drum play in nearly all kinds of music as noticed in the program...

Except that many fans and people were using their smartphones an singing together the songs of the signers - not only Sarah !The party was very hot and entertaining indeed. For me Sarah's was a new singer name as wit the groups presented in sequence. they surely started  the latest years.

There was then a skype communication with a scholar in Rhodes (USA? )

After the presentation of this scholar, the singer Ella was in the stage, the queen of rock as stated by her fans. She started singing in 80s, a very familiar signer to me since 1990 the time i started listening Malay music from shortwaves. She sung 3 songs in the stage : gemilang [95 ] nuri  and permata pemotong permata

This is her first song in the stage  immediately after the advertisements  together with the logo of the program - konsert kita punya-

As you many see in the above screenshot there was a interesting tweet. It was mine ! The post was seen in the screen of RTM2 in around 15 seconds after I posted it!

   After the commercials and congratulations  from people in the road   there was a mix with dance groups with pop music.   The next group was Floor 88 singing two of their songs  a group i again first time heard, really because i was more interested in older groups of the times 80-10s They were again with two songs with a style of rock with folk. 

Hujan was then the next group again with  rock music,, I remember a group from around 10 years go but i not very sure if id the same since the groups and singres in Malaysia change very much posibe fater than in other countries!

On the final i watched during the mini concert from Hujan was the people getting on stage to photograph them

I had then to stop watching the program because i was sure i was misusing their stream 

I seen that after 0100MT (1700UTC ) RTM2 already stopped the concert airing a series !

anyway Even this little watching was quite interesting

That's all from the RTM program. We started them watching with my wife around 9 local time at night the restart of an older series called 'the cafe-terie  of Chara [Joy]14: year after'  in its premiere episode a long awaited series for more than 5 months after its announcement . Another series was them commenced with is especial version fo the day until we meet the remain family 20 minutes before the year change.

As with  our traditions,  we watch a TV program that is the same as above mentioned  with , temparaliy shut up the lighting then power on immediately after the year change.We then hug each other. Nearby fireworks start . And  finally we cut the sweet pie as in the video. The same process is made in all the pie.each piece is named starting with the name of the God ,Jesus the house and  next with the family members




It is very common in Greece that people after this process leave their houses on round 1230 midnight to met with friends in bars or restaurants.
The meeting was made 20 minutes later with  the friend for around 2 hours
